Meet Blanche Keller!
I came to Radiance after waiting for Kishie and Susie to open the studio. I had been a student of Kishie's at another studio and I wanted to continue my practice in her classes. The instruction in her classes was varied as well as tailored to our needs. It was always a joyful learning experience, unlike any I had known. We shared our sorrows and celebrated our joys together. My first impression of Kishie reminded me of a kindergarten teacher, for she had a soft gentle delivery voice, boy was I wrong! I worked harder for her than I had ever done before! She was our "Steel Magnolia" with a big ole smile plastered on her face!
The practice of yoga has benefited me for over 28 years. In my first years practicing yoga, I didn't appreciate the value that it was providing my body. Through the years, I have come to understand that the flexibility and resilience that I have is due to my yoga practice. My total knee replacements, one in 2024 and the other in 2025, slowed my yoga practice. Thanks to the generosity of the Radiance staff, I am able to use a chair to support my practice. My gratitude is boundless to the staff for allowing me to continue to do this. Yoga has taught me stamina, and I don't give up when faced with adversity. I know I can find other ways to achieve my goals.
When I walk in Radiance's door, I feel acceptance and expectation. What will the class learn today, who will be by my mat, what new person will I meet, and how will I help someone today? Our Treehouse is a cosy safe place populated with caring people offering smiles of acceptance to the other yogis. We start visiting when we walk through the studio door.
When I taught school, my classroom was a sanctuary, and I think of the Treehouse in this manner. The room becomes a community of love for me.
Since I am probably the senior yogi, if not the most senior, I have had experience with a variety of yoga instructors and studios. Radiance is my "hot fudge sundae" studio. For many years, I practiced at the "meat and potato" type of studios, and I am so appreciative of the manner in which Radiance is conducted. The instructors are cheerful and helpful and are ever ready to serve our needs and wants. There is order, cleanliness, and always something new and inviting to see in the studio. Who could resist that?
I am drawn to the sound healing classes, as they are relaxing as well. Radiance offers versatility in their classes, which I truly appreciate. I like being with all ages, so thanks to the Radiance staff for providing a variety of classes that suit all yogis.
